Invented Beyond Exile

Anyone use axeuk? good software for IF. I've spent a good chunk of the last twenty years in various writing projects, mostly musical, mostly from personal desire. To paraphrase Rainer Maria Rilke, this artistic expression comes from representing "a fragment of my own life" and as such, it hasn't mattered if I sold it to the newspapers and magazines. As such, I've written over 500 songs in the last 18 years with god-knows-how-many bands...even got played on The John Peel (RIP) Show...here are some influences: Can, Royal Trux, Curtis Mayfield, Denis Johnson, Charles Bukowski (the shoelace), Kurt Vonnegut, Patrick McGoohan (I will not be pushed, stamped, filed, indexed, briefed, de-briefed or numbered. My life is my own. I am not a number I am a free man!!!), Five Easy Pieces (the Movie), Jesus Son(book and movie), Buena Vista Social Club(movie and music, ok its a Ry Cooder thing), Paris Texas(Ok, its a Wim Wenders thing), Cassavettes (Faces, Opening Night, The killing of a Chinese Bookie) and umm... James Brown. Bill Hicks : "Squeegee your third eye!" - if you see that bumper sticker, it might be my car. Recently I've explored adapting poetry and prose into other visual text art forms including interactive fiction. I turned a 240 page long poem into a dozen hours of music videos as well as a text adventure game. I just completed a double-CD of rock music exploring sub references spanning four decades. As I try and get better, I enjoy the small little steps along the way as much as the shiny product at the end of the rainbow. I have a small cottage with wood-burning stove and music studio secluded in nature that allows me to tackle these projects without interruption. My neighbors are doug firs and an occasional raccoon, coyote, or skunk that creeps by, yet I can be in downtown Portland in ten minutes.
